FAQ From Players

What is the use of a SWISS PADEL player profile?

Your player profile will allow you to enter the website www.suipa.ch with an identification and a password, thus giving you access to some processes meant only for identified visitors, such as registering for tournaments or buying a license.

Please watch out to enter a correct birthdate and don’t hesitate to mention the club where you play most.

Why should I as a player acquire a SWISS PADEL license ?

First, you support the sport that you and we love so much and want to play even more in Switzerland. The total number of all licenses is very important for the acceptance and promotion of Padel. E.g., Swiss Olympics expects over 1000 official players to address the concerns of a sport.

Secondly, you also challenge yourself as a player: you may participate in official tournaments of the SWISS PADEL Tour, collect points and appear in the official SWISS PADEL Ranking.

When are the national rankings actualized?

Every Wednesday.

How can I order a player license, how much does it cost and how long is it valid?

First open a profile on our site under https://suipa.ch/login/?action=register. As soon as you have confirmed your profile by e-mail, you can order a license for CHF 50 (juniors CHF 30) under https://suipa.ch/gb/licence. It is valid from the Wednesday following the date of purchase until March 15th of the following year. Renewals are
possible from Jan.1st.

How can I check that my license has been validated?

You can check this by seeing if you appear in the SWISS PADEL ranking the Wednesday following the purchase.

Where and how can I register to a tournament and appear in the official SWISS PADEL Ranking?

On https://suipa.ch/gb/competition you can find all the announced tournaments, filter them according to your taste and reserve the dates in your calendar.

The executing club decides itself when to announce the detailed information. We of course encourage them to do so as soon as possible and set the minimum to 12 days before the weekend of the tournament.

The registration opens 45 days before the tournament date. Closure of registrations is the Sunday before the tournament at 6 pm. Draws and schedules are then made public between Tuesday and Wednesday before the tournament.

Can I register to a tournament with a SWISS PADEL profile but without a license?

Yes, you can, but only into SWISS PADEL Category 5 or SWISS PADEL Category 6 draws. Also the system will only let you register the last 4 days of the registration period (meaning Thursday to Sunday 6pm, 1 week before the tournament.)

I cannot register for a tournament, why is that?

First, please make sure that you do not have too many ranking points to register into that specific category. For example, SWISS PADEL Category 6 accepts only players with 0 to 9 points. Also make sure that the year of your birth date in your SWISS PADEL Profile is correct and that you have a valid license (in case you want to register for a SWISS PADEL
Category 1, 2, 3 or 4 tournament). All those conditions also apply to your teammate.

I think my points in the SWISS PADEL Ranking are not correct. What can I do?

The points appear the Wednesday following the tournament. You may check all your results by clicking on your name in the ranking list. If you think the points are not correct, please write an email to manuel@suipa.ch

I want to become an official Padel instructor. Do you offer courses?

SWISS PADEL organizes courses that will give you an official certification. Those workshops each last 3 days and follow Mauri Andrini’s method. Mauri is a world-known padel coach and is directing Hello Padel Academy in Barcelona.

The courses are evolutive: the first level coaching course is Bronze. Then you can follow the Silver course, the Gold and finally the Platinum level.

If you are interested in following one of those courses, please contact Diego Sebastian, as the head of Education for SWISS PADEL diego@suipa.ch

FAQ from organisations

Why does it make sense for Padel clubs and centers in Switzerland to become a member of SWISS PADEL?

1. Your club can have a say in the development of the sport Padel in CH.

2. Official SWISS PADEL tournaments can be organized in your club or association, which will be included in the official SWISS PADEL Ranking. A managing program helps the organizers.

3. You will be invited to the annual general meeting, where SWISS PADEL’s future policy is decided. You can contribute ideas and opinions on existing and future projects and you have a voting right.

4. As a member, you help to have the sport of Padel to be officially recognized by Swiss Olympic. This recognition, in return, gives the clubs access to various types of support from this umbrella organization of Swiss sport and the Swiss National Olympic Committee. It also opens the doors of the Jugend & Sport structure.

5. As a member club, you may register one or more interclub teams free of charge.

6. Potential Padel coaches from member clubs will have priority to attend SWISS PADEL training and certification. And one person of your choice may participate in a “Bronze” trainer training course for the special price of only 50 CHF.

7. Cash-back system: if your club has many licensed players, you may get back some money, as high as your annual membership fee.

8. Member clubs benefit from an increased visibility on the website and social media of SWISS PADEL.

How can a club or a center become a member of SWISS PADEL and how high are the membership fees?

The annual fee is CHF 320 for one Padel court and CHF 120 for each additional court. On our website it is possible to register directly: First simply open a club profile under https://suipa.ch/login/?action=register and it will be validated by SWISS PADEL. When your club profile has been validated, you can choose your membership here:
https://suipa.ch/gb/affiliationsuipa/

A SWISS PADEL club membership is valid from the date of purchase until March 15th the following year. Renewals are possible from January 1st on.

We want to build a Padel court. Can SWISS PADEL support us?

Of course we are very happy about your project! Every additional court is an enrichment for our beloved sport. We recommend contacting other clubs that already have Padel courts and exchanging experiences with them. We also refer to the sponsors of our association who build padel courts, which you will find under
https://suipa.ch/de/associes/ (actually Realsport and Padel Select). Financial support is so far beyond our means.

What should be considered when building a Padel court?

In addition to a reliable course constructor, there are a few other requirements to consider if you want to hold national tournaments of the official SWISS PADEL Tour. You will find a few answers in our tournament regulations under art. 19-20-21: https://suipa.ch/gb/reglements, but you can see the complete rules in the FIP Regulations: https://www.padelfip.com/documentation/ (then download “Padel game regulations.)

The minimal height of 6 meters over the whole indoor padel court is a requisite, but
advised are 8 meters everywhere, but at least over the center of the court.
